Strategic Development Fund agrees to take majority stake in MARIX
UAE maritime technology company making uncrewed surface vessels, with Strategic Development Fund moving from a minority to a majority holding from Sovereign Global Solutions.
Strategic Development Fund (SDF), an Abu Dhabi investment entity wholly owned by EDGE Group, has entered an agreement with Sovereign Global Solutions Limited (SGS) to raise its ownership in MARIX to a majority stake. SGS will remain a shareholder with a minority stake.
MARIX, formerly Sovereign Global Solution Middle East, makes uncrewed surface vessels for offshore survey, subsea inspection and maintenance work. The companies said the deal supports growth in local production and next-generation vessels.
The vessel is due to make its public debut at ADIPEC 2026 in Abu Dhabi in November.
