Lone Star Funds has closed on its acquisition of DOMO Engineered Materials, pairing the polyamide specialist with RadiciGroup’s high-performance polymers and specialty chemicals businesses to form a combined global compounder.

The two acquisitions, completed simultaneously, give the new platform complementary product lines and widened geographic coverage.

DOMO Engineered Materials, a business division of DOMO Group, produces polyamide-based materials under the TECHNYL brand.

The nearly 70-year-old operation serves automotive, electrical and electronics, building and construction, consumer goods, and industrial end markets.

Its product range includes lightweighting and metal-replacement solutions, heat- and flame-resistant grades, water- and food-contact materials, and recycled and bio-based compounds marketed as TECHNYL 4EARTH.

Lone Star, investing through Lone Star Fund XII, is a global private equity firm with roughly $96 billion in aggregate capital commitments across 26 funds since 1995.

The firm acquired RadiciGroup alongside DOMO EM; RadiciGroup brings a vertically integrated polyamide production chain, including chemical intermediates and engineering polymers, with a focus on innovation and ESG-aligned development.

Donald Quintin, CEO of Lone Star, said the combined business will focus on broadening its offering while continuing to deliver products for customers in key end markets.

The acquisition of DOMO Engineered Materials was completed May 12.

With the RadiciGroup deal already closed, Lone Star intends to run the businesses as a unified platform to serve demanding applications across multiple industrial sectors.
