Hiab to buy Labrie Environmental Group from Wynnchurch Capital
With four production sites across Canada, the US and Mexico, the refuse-vehicle maker serves municipal waste-management customers through Labrie, Wittke and Leach.
A North American refuse truckmaker serving municipal waste management, Labrie Environmental Group is being sold by Wynnchurch Capital and management minority shareholders to Hiab at an enterprise value of US$1.035bn.
The pending deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals, with committed financing from Danske Bank and OP Corporate Bank.
Labrie operates four production sites across Canada, the US and Mexico and employs about 1,200 people.
For the 12 months ended March 2026, the company generated sales of US$491m and comparable EBITDA of US$113m, a 23% margin.
Its Labrie, Wittke and Leach brands cover automated side-loader, front-loader and rear-loader refuse vehicles.
Wynnchurch Capital acquired Labrie in 2020 as the first platform investment in its Fund V.
The business gives Hiab greater exposure to municipal contract cycles and regulatory replacement demand, lessening its reliance on construction and logistics markets.
