Hiab Corporation to buy Labrie Environmental Group from Wynnchurch Capital

The deal shifts a Quebec refuse-vehicle manufacturer serving residential haulers and municipalities across North America after Wynnchurch Capital’s 2020 investment.

In refuse-collection equipment, Wynnchurch Capital signed a definitive agreement to sell Labrie Environmental Group, a Levis, Quebec-based manufacturer of refuse collection vehicles and aftermarket parts, to Hiab Corporation.

Labrie serves residential-focused haulers and municipalities in the U.S. and Canada mainly through a dealer network.

Its product line includes automated side loaders, front loaders, rear loaders, and aftermarket parts and services sold under the Labrie, Wittke and Leach brands.

The company operates manufacturing facilities in Quebec, Georgia and Mexico, and Wynnchurch Capital has owned the business since September 2020.

Terms were not disclosed; the transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026 pending customary conditions and regulatory approvals, with Baird advising Labrie Environmental Group and Ropes & Gray LLP advising Wynnchurch Capital.
