Fortress Investment Group buys IPValue Management Group
Since 2001, IPValue has managed licensing programs covering 20,000+ patents and generated $2B+ for partners; Fortress says the deal adds capital for broader commercialization work.
Funds managed by Fortress Investment Group affiliates led an investor group in the acquisition of IPValue Management Group, an intellectual property licensing and management company for technology enterprises.
Founded in 2001, IPValue manages patent commercialization programs covering more than 20,000 patents across displays, semiconductors, memory, IT devices and services, and networking.
“Coming off our strongest year to date, we view Fortress as uniquely suited to support the next era of IPValue, as we continue to successfully execute our pipeline of new opportunities and expand the scope of our commercialization programs,” said John Lindgren, Chief Executive Officer of IPValue.
IPValue will remain an independent company under its existing senior leadership team after the transaction.
