Fortress Investment Group buys IPValue Management Group from Vector Capital

Founded in 2001, the IP commercialization provider has managed licensing for more than 60,000 patents and generated more than $2 billion for enterprise partners.

In an exit for Vector Capital, IPValue Management Group, an IP commercialization provider for technology enterprises, moved to Fortress Investment Group.

The company works with enterprise partners on patent licensing and has handled more than 60,000 patents since its 2001 founding.

Vector Capital first invested in IPValue more than a decade ago and said revenue grew more than 400% during its ownership.

“IPValue represents the embodiment of Vector’s special situation investing model,” said Rob Amen, a Managing Director at Vector Capital.

John Lindgren will continue to lead IPValue as Chief Executive Officer.
